Hedging Plants

A hedge is a line of closely spaced shrubs and/or tree species, planted and trained in such a way as to form a barrier or to mark the boundary of an area. Hedges used to separate a road from adjoining houses or one house from another. Hedges of sufficient age that incorporate larger trees, are known as hedgerows. It is also a simple form of topiary.

Low hegdes can be used to define a boarder or edge the outside of a garden bed in a formal garden, while larger hedges are used for privacy from either the road way or ajoining properties.
