Product Description

Botanical Name Buxus microphylla
Common Name Japanese Box
Type and Habit Evergreen dense growing shrub, slower growing, great for hedging and border plantings.
Average Height
2.5 high x 2m wide
Foliage Medium sized rounded leaves, new growth is light green, aging to dark green
Aspect Full sun to semi shade
Flowers and Fruit

N/A (generally not seen. Small green round berry like friut if it does form)

Uses

This form of Buxus makes a great hedge as it has tight box foliage. Slower growing meaning less maintenance, this shrub looks great all year round. Will grow well in most soil type. Light pruning of the sided of the head will promote height in the hedge.

Also makes great topiaries. Once established can be shaped into many different features inlcuding spirals, cones, domes and pointers.

Requires regular water when first planted but once established can tolerate drought
