Loading... Please wait...It is a member of the Proteaceae family in company with the Banksias, Grevilleas and Hakeas. The common name is Firewheel Tree and refers to the shape of the bright orange-red flower heads. The Firewheel Tree will grow to a height of 30 metres. As well as the spectacular flowers, this species has attractive glossy, dark green leaves. The leaves may be simple or lobed.

a hardy salt tolerant native that is just spectacular in flower, add to this that it is not well known and you will have friends family and even strangers asking you what it is and where you got it.
